4 Things Foreign, Chrysler, GM, and Ford Dealers Might Not Tell You

by | May 5, 2017 | Autos

When you go to an official car dealer, they are more than happy to show you the beautiful new cars they have in stock. However, they also have some very good cars at affordable prices, but the salesperson may not recommend them because they are not brand new. Here are four things that some Ford dealers and other official dealers may not tell you when you shop for cars.

1. You can drive the latest model car for less money.

There are plenty of excellent pre-owned cars less than a year old. Not only that, they are thousands of dollars cheaper than buying a brand new car. Why don’t some dealers tell you about this? They make more money on new car price markups.

2. You can buy a certified used car.

If you are looking at new cars at Ford dealers (or any other dealers selling new vehicles), your salesperson may not tell you about great deals on certified pre-owned cars. You can buy a vehicle as old as five years old with as many as 60,000 miles and get a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty and other benefits.

3. You don’t need to pay for overpriced “extras.”

When you buy a new car, dealers have many options that you don’t need. For example, some people consider under coating not worth the price and you might not need special paint coatings. After all, these things don’t usually add to the resale value of the car.

4. You don’t have to buy a new car for that special “smell.”

Many people love the way new cars smell, but you can buy products today specially designed to make your car interior smell like the new cars on the lot. You don’t have to go to GM or Ford dealers and sit in a brand new car.
